After spending more than a year in searching and having tried out some 80 mechanical pencils, I ran into my favorite last week: a Faber-Castell alpha-matic titanium. Almost perfect. I agree, I also use the alpha-matic. Can you help me find the first model (metal tip can be completely recessed back in). This model has number 139721, 139751, 139761 and 139771. Regular, with non retractable tip are 139722, 52, 62 and 72. It is written on the exterior box.
